Lake Esmond Botanical Garden

Originally a quarry for the local Eureka Tile Works until 1982, Lake Esmond was replanted and revived as a lake and reserve.
A large area of surrounding parkland includes an adventure playground, walking track BBQs and toilets, treed areas and open space.
The lake was named after early gold discoverer and Eureka Stockade leader, James Esmond.
The gardens feature a number of facilities including:
- Public toilets
- BBQs
- Playgrounds
- Water feature
Lake Esmond Botanial Garden is just around the corner from Prospect Cottage Ballarat. A 3 minute taxi/rideshare or car ride away. Or a 15 minute walk to relax and enjoy the gardens or have a BBQ with friends.
