Rental Car

Melbourne Airport offers six car rentals companies that are all on site and under one roof, located on the ground floor of the airport Terminal 1, 2 & 3 car park. See the Melbourne Airport website for more details 

Taxi

Taxi ranks are located across from all the terminals. A Melbourne Airport access fee applies to all pick-ups from an airport taxi rank. The access fee is paid by the passenger to the taxi driver and is included in the taxi fare. There is no airport charge for drop off.

Pre-Booked Taxis

You can pre-book a taxi to pick you up from the airport. Your taxi will be ready to collect you in the outdoor section of the Terminal Car Park at Terminals 1, 2 & 3.

• These three services are authorised to pick-up at the airport. After you have arranged for your ride, head to the designated pickup area
  Terminal 1, 2 & 3 passengers (Qantas, International and Virgin Australia) from lane 3 of the Terminal 1, 2 & 3 forecourt.
• Terminal 4 passengers (Jetstar, Rex or AirNorth) from Level 2 inside the Terminal Car Park at Terminal 4.

Public Transport

Unfortunately the public transport facilities at Melbourne Airport are far from ideal.

1. Take the Melbourne Airport T1 Skybus to Melbourne Southern Cross Coach Terminal. SkyBus runs express bus services every 15 minutes between Melbourne Airport and Melbourne CBD, operating between 4:30am and midnight, 7 days a week. Check the SkyBus website for information 
2. From Southern Cross Station, catch a VLine train to Ballarat Station
3. From Ballarat station, catch a regional bus to Main Road
4. Walk a few minutes to Prospect Cottage

• Get on Sunbury Rd/C743/M2 from Terminal Dr and Centre Rd (1.1 km)
• Follow Sunbury Rd/C743 to Bulla-Diggers Rest Rd in Bulla(8.0 km)
• Continue on Bulla-Diggers Rest Rd to Diggers Rest (9.7 km)
• Continue on Diggers Rest-Coimadai Rd/C706.
• Take National Highway M8 to Main Rd/C294 in Golden Point
