Heating & Cooling

You’ve arrived at Prospect Cottage and need information about the property and the facilities we provide. Here’s all the info.

at the cottage

Fans

Ceiling fans in the living area and bedroom are adjustable via the control on the light switch panel. Turning the controls 3 clicks clockwise will set the lowest speed, 2 clicks for medium, and 1 click for fastest. During colder months, the fans will be set to ‘Winter mode’, which is designed to push hot air down from the ceiling.

Radiator

A portable DeLonghi column heater is provided in the bedroom next to the wardrobe.

Please ensure you unwind the cord fully before turning on, and do not place any items on top of the heater while it’s in use. The outside of the heater will get hot, so keep away from children and pets.

Reverse-cycle air conditioner

The Hisense split system in the living area is reverse-cycle and the remote control will be on the coffee table when you arrive.

You can set the unit to cooling, fan, or heating modes, adjust the fan speed and set your desired temperature.

Under-floor heating

Our bathroom has under-floor heating, and is on a timer and thermostat.

During the colder months, the floor is set to be a constant 22º.

During warmer months, the floor will heat to 22º in the morning 5am-10am and evening 8pm-1am.

The child lock is set on this interface to prevent any settings from being changed.

Windows and doors

If you open any of the windows or doors, please be mindful of noise levels, and close them before leaving the property or if it starts to rain.
